You can destroy me, but my spirit will live on.

Artificial Value, or Evolutionary Advantage?

What is it that drives us to love some animals more than others? What makes us mourn the loss of certain animals while accelerating the destruction of others? A lot of people would feel bad if they ran over a kitten or a dog.

An argument could be made that some animals have more function, like a horse can carry us quickly long distances, an elephant can carry tons of weight... but what about cats and dogs? What purpose do they serve?

Castle Conflict!

Castle conflict is a game for the iPhone developed by a guy by the name of therabidwombat (if I remember correctly), and graphics by my friend Josiah. Josiah also did the graphics for Lynn's Legacy, which I thought was a beautiful game.

Well, I guess they're almost on the top 50 apps in the US, which'll give 'em a really big boost if they hit. Check it out, it's only $1.99 on the app store, and tell em cha0s sent you. Actually don't, because no one will care... xD

Seriously though, go buy it and make my buddy proud!

EDIT: They hit the top 50! =D

The Bold Jumping Spider!

Found this guy hanging out on my grill! I must admit, the coloring of it was a little scary at first, and I was tempted to kill it, but I let him live.

It's a Phidippus audax spider... they're very curious and more aware of their surroundings than normal spiders.

He didn't feel threatened by me, even though I got pretty close to him. They raise up their front legs at you when they do. I killed one like him before and it did the leg thing as I was preparing to send him to spider heaven. Creepy!

Inspiration

Inspiration is like fire, it's only a passing thing and requires fuel in order to burn. We are its fuel. Make yourself the most flammable to it as you can.

This was a bad choice...

I need to get out of here... I'm fading fast.

Stupid AT&T

So, I woke up this morning, bright and early (for me) around 8 o'clock, got in the shower and got ready for work... Well look at that, no internet, AGAIN!

So, this means now I have to get my winter stuff on (because there's this thing going on outside, called a frickin blizzard) and walk over to Walmart, so I can PAY to talk to AT&T. So okay, did that and spent 30 bucks on cell minutes.

Back from Louisville

As you may know, I've been out of town in Louisville, Kentucky for the last couple of days.

I just wanna throw out a thanks to Ryan and Christina and everyone else who made the effort to make me feel welcome... you were successful. =]

BREAKING: America found to be unnecessary in resolving political disputes in a land where they had no jurisdiction in the first place.

...Yeah, the topic summed it up pretty well.

I love being a nerd

Woohoo!

I bought a cheap computer from Deany boy and put Linux on it. Now my mom and my sister have an internet connection and a nice secure computer that won't get viruses.

I connected it to my home network and installed sshd so now I have complete unfettered access to it over ethernet. In english that means I have a Windows and Linux computer to use at the same time now. It couldn't come at a better time either, when I'm working on finalizing the transition to the new FreeBASIC unix-like restructuring.

Introduction

Hi! I'm Ruben.

I'm 24 years old and I live in a small town in Illinois.

I love all kinds of music, and having fun with people. I also make music.

I can be really nerdy. I maintain and develop a compiler on my spare time, so that might say something. :P I'm also working on an online game, but you can't see it yet. Only people I really like have seen it already. If you think you should be a tester, then you can get a hold of me.

I'm slowly but surely beating myself back into shape!

This is my first hosting/domain, so I guess it's more of an experiment than anything. So far I'm satisfied. :) Hope you enjoy the visit. I have linked to things I do, as well as things I just find interesting or awesome.

Thanks everyone, you're great.
